WITH a SABS ISO 9001 certification already under the belt for the past five years, SBS Tanks has now added the SABS 18001 to its certificate wall, something it believes further reinforces its credibility in the industry.
OHSAS 18001, the Occupational Health and Safety Series, is an international standard that indicates a company’s adherence to stringent health and safety procedures.
After a four-month audit of SBS Tanks’ entire operation, from steel delivery at the factory to the final tank commissioning in the field, SABS KZN made the official handover of the OHSAS 18001 certificate and recently at the SBS Tanks Head Office in Pinetown.
Lead auditor for SABS KZN, Jai Gansan, said, “It’s a huge achievement to display your SABS certification towards health and safety. Not many companies strive for certification as prestigious as ours, but SBS Tanks has gone above and beyond in achieving this. Congratulations to your team and we look forward to a good partnership in the future”.
SBS Tanks Managing Director Delayne Gray said at the handover that the certification gave the company a competitive edge, boosting confidence in its products as it continued to strive to improve its performance.
“We take pride in ensuring that our entire operation adheres to the standards laid out by the OHSAS 18001. Achieving this certification is testament to our dedication and commitment to our employees’ health and safety as well as that of our customers and other stakeholders,” he added.
