THE recently finished Customs Control Area (CCA) in Zone 1 of the Coega Special Economic Zone (SEZ) will start operating on 1 June.
The CCA enables a suite of incentives for businesses located in Zone 1 and 2 of the SEZ, including customs duty and VAT as well as offering a one-stop shop service. It will also house key government departments such as the South African Revenue Services, Home Affairs and Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
During construction of the CCA building, 158 construction jobs were created along with a further three permanent jobs.
