METAL Work, an Italian company that specialises in the production of pneumatic components for automation systems, has opened a branch in Durban.
Established in 1967, Metal Work started out as a small workshop, manufacturing push-in fittings for compressed air systems. Since then the company has gradually extended its structure and production range to become a market leader in pneumatic fittings for automation systems.
It currently markets five separate product ranges: actuators, valves, FRL units, fittings and handling components, all of which appear in a 1200-page catalogue.
The main production plant in Concesio, in the Norh of Italy, now has a total workforce of over 400. The Italian and worldwide sales network has a further 700 employees.
Metal Work obtained ISO 9001 quality certification in 1992, followed by environmental certification under ISO 14001 in 2000. Since 2007 the company’s occupational health and safety management system has been certified under OHSAS 18001. All these certifications have been issued by TGA-accredited German certifying body DEKRA ITS.
Product distribution and technical assistance are handled by 50 branches in Italy and abroad that are in direct daily contact with the market and offer a comprehensive before/after-sales service.
The Durban branch is located at Unit 15 Heron Park, 80 Corobrik Road, Riverhorse Valley and handles orders, collections, repairs and technical advice.
